Carpet Refresh

A professional hot-extraction refresh that lifts ground-in soil and neutralises odours — leaving carpets fresh, visibly brighter and dry within a few hours. Charged per room, minimum one room.

What's included

A proper extraction, not a quick spray

We pre-vacuum, pre-spray high-traffic lanes, agitate and extract — pulling soil and stale odours out of the pile rather than just masking them. Carpets are visibly brighter and dry to walk on within a few hours.

  • Pre-vacuum and corner-edge detailing
  • High-traffic pre-spray and agitation
  • Hot water extraction rinse

Why we don't refresh wool carpets

Wool is a natural fibre — it needs a specialist, not us

Our carpet refresh uses hot-water extraction — the most effective method for lifting soil from synthetic and man-made carpets (polyamide, polyester, polypropylene and blends). It's fast, thorough and dries quickly.

Wool behaves very differently. It's a natural fibre that's sensitive to moisture and heat: hot extraction can cause it to shrink, brown (cellulosic browning), bleed colour or felt the pile. Wool carpets often have specific dyes and treatments that need low-moisture or dry-cleaning methods and specialist products — sometimes a pH-neutral approach that won't strip the natural lanolin.

Rather than risk shrinking or discolouring a carpet that may be worth hundreds or thousands of pounds, we simply don't refresh wool. If you have a wool carpet, we'll happily point you towards a specialist wool-cleaner — it's the honest call.

Not sure what your carpet is made of? Check the manufacturer label on the underside, or ask us when we quote — we'll advise before booking.

An honest note on stains

We refresh and brighten — we can't guarantee every stain out

Our extraction lifts ground-in soil and most fresh staining, and leaves carpets visibly brighter and odour-neutral. But not every mark can be removed, and we'd rather set that expectation honestly before we start:

  • Set-in or old stains that have bonded with the fibre may only lighten, not fully lift.
  • Bleach marks and colour-loss can't be reversed — the dye is gone.
  • Permanent dyes (ink, hair dye, paint) may have set beyond extraction.
  • Pet urine that has penetrated the backing or underlay can leave a mark or odour we can't fully remove.
  • Wear, flattening and permanent fibre damage won't be corrected by cleaning.

We'll always assess the carpet on the day and tell you honestly what's likely to lift and what isn't before we proceed — no surprises on the invoice.
